Mr. Cheung Ka Shing is a student of Mr. Leung Yat Chiu for many years. Mr. Cheung studied harmonica, melodion, and rhythm at the House of Music, and followed Mr. Leung Lok Sing and Mr. Shiu Lep Kung to study music composition, second voicing, and music arrangement. He also studied musical instruments, such as recorder and jazz drum. In 1980, Mr. Cheung joined Musaphone Harmonica Company to work and now he is the managing director of Melocity Music Learning Centre. Mr. Cheung teaches harmonica, melodion, and rhythm in more than 100 schools, including over 100,000 students in his past 20 years of teaching experience. Mr. Cheung participated in organising many concerts, such as in 1981 the “Hong Kong Youth Harmonica and Melodion Concert?by 1,000 students. In 1983 , a total of 1,500 students from 50 schools performed the Musical Concert? In 1985, 3,000 youths performed in a harmonica and melodion concert. And in 1993 at the Shanghai and Hong Kong Youth Performing Festival? sponsored by the Shanghai TV station, was performed by about 60 children who came from Shanghai and more than 1,000 youths from Hong Kong. In 1994, Mr. Cheung was invited by Dr. Yip Wai-hong of Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra to perform in three concerts. In these concerts Mr. Cheung played the melodion together with the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dr. Yip. In 1995, Ms. Fai Ming Yee invited Mr. Cheung to perform melodion with the Ming Yee Choir, the first of this kind of performance. And in 1997, Dr. Yip again invited Mr. Cheung together with Mr. Leung Yat Chiu to perform with the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, in which Mr. Cheung recomposed and performed the“The Butterfly Lovers”harmonica and melodion concerto. Mr. Cheung was also invited by the Choi Wo Ping Production Company to produce the“Kids O.K. to Self Learn Album? And in 1996 he helped in producing a CD album of“Music by Harmonica and Melodion?and a book of “Instruction to Play the Melodion? |
In celebration of the Hong Kong Reunion Day on July 5, 1997, organisations from the education community and the Committee of Hong Kong Reunion Celebration organised the “Teachers and Students in Celebration Concert? Mr. Cheung conducted a melodion performance of 3,000 people from 100 schools, and was appointed to represent the 100 schools to receive the appreciation souvenir from Ms. Yu Lai Ching Ping of the Education Department. Mr. Cheung has taught melodion and rhythm classes to over 500 students and music teachers at the Hong Kong International Institute of Music and Tai Po District Arts Advancement Association. He has also taught at the Hong Kong Baptist University and Lingnan University. Mr. Cheung has trained many teachers and organised melodion band in China. He is truly a professional in playing the melodion. On July 3, 2000, at the “Hong Kong Reunification Celebration Concert”held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Mr. Cheung conducted a thousand-people-concert and received good appraisal from Mr. Irving KOO Yee-yin, Chairman of the Quality Education Fund. Recently, Mr. Cheung was interviewed by Educational Television Division of RTHK in its Music for Kids program. Additionally, Mr. Cheung was invited by Television Broadcasts Limited to produce the score music in harmonica for its highly acclaimed television program“The Moonlight of 5th October? In the same year, Mr. Cheung was invited repeatedly by the MTR Corporation to organise the MTR Station Arts Festival”with performances from various school bands. And Mr. Cheung was also invited by the ICAC to be the Head Judge of the singing competition at the Central and Western District ICAC Variety Show.

Mr Chong won 2nd World Harmonica Contest Championship which was held in Germany. Mr Chong was invited to perform at overseas frequently such as China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore. These also included North Korea’s Art Festival. In 1990, Mr Chong formed Harmonica World Sdn Bhd and he had organized 5 national Harmonica Contests from 1990 onwards. In 1998, he organized 2nd Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival & Contest. He was also the judge and guest performer for several Asia Pacific Harmonica Festivals & Contests. In 2003, he guided the 460 People Largest Harmonica Performance?in conjunction with Malaysia’s National Day and this event was entered into the Malaysia Book of Records. |

Ho Chee Kin mastered three types of harmonica playing skills i.e.classical and jazz chromatic harmonica and 10 holes harmonica. Ho Chee Kin obtained remarkable results in harmonica competitions locally and abroad, including 2000, the Chromonica Champion and Champion for Trio in the Open Category in the ?Millennium Harmonica Contest ?organized by International Harmonica Organization (IHO) in England, and he was awarded the Overall Champion in the ?Millennium Harmonica Contest ? by IHO. In 2002, he won the Gold medal for Quartet in 4th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival & Contest in Japan. He possessed a Diploma in Contemporary music in 2002. Currently, he is involving himself in music arranging jobs, composing harmonica tunes. |
Tan Choon Siang has expertise in playing chromatic and tremolo harmonica. He also plays bass and chord harmonica in the harmonica trio category. He obtained remarkable results in harmonica competition locally and abroad, including 1995 & 1997, he won the Champion for Chromonica solo in the Open Category in 4th & 5thMalaysia Harmonica Contest, and the Champion for Trio in the Open Category in 5th Malaysia Harmonica Contest. 1998, he won the 1st Runner-up for Chromonica Solo in 2nd Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival & Contest (APHFC) in Kuala Lumpur. In 2002, he won Gold medal for Quartet in the Open Category in 4th APHFC in Japan. He possesses a Diploma in Mass Communication (Graphic Design) in 2002. | Koh Keng Hong masterd bass and chord harmonica performance skill, and he plays chromatic harmonica as well. He and his teams participated in numerous harmonica concerts and received numerous award, including 1997, he won 2nd Runner-up for Chromonica solo and the Champion for Trio in the Open Category in 5th Malaysia Harmonica Contest. In 2000, he won Champion for Trio in the Open Category in the ?Millennium Harmonica Contest?organized by IHO in England. Miss Anny Cheng Tsz Kwan began her piano lesson since her childhood. She has built up the good foundation in piano playing by learning from two famous teachers Mr. Chan Mong Ka and Mrs. Chan Wong Chi Kin. Miss Cheng likes singing so many different awards have been presented to her by The Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association. In 1994, Miss Cheng went to the States and Canada for overseas concert tour and had gained good reputation. Afterwards she achieved her education course with good result in Music Department, Hong Kong Institute of Education. Miss Cheng continued her further study after graduation, she followed Miss Jovita Leung to practice singing in order to enhance her skill. Such that she has got certificate of merit from the Music Office, Hong Kong. Miss Cheng joined the Melocity Music Learning Centre to be a tutor of music in 2004 and she has shown her satisfactory performance. |

Chong Ling Zi was under the pupilage of a few well-known musicians. Currently, she learns to play piano from Ms Beth Luke. She graduated with Certificate of Professional Piano Performance from Trinity College, London. She is excellent in performing piano accompaniment. She not only accompanied several orchestra and large choir groups but also performs piano to accompany with harmonist frequently. |
