CORPORATE PROFILE

Harmonica World Sdn Bhd (HWSD) was organized in 1990. It’s founder is Malaysia’s well-known harmonica player, Mr Chong Ah Kow. His objectives are to promote harmonica activities actively and to act as liaison for local and international harmonica players.

From 1990, HWSB organized 5 national harmonica contests. HWSB not only promote harmonica music and cultural activities effectively and upgraded our harmonica lovers playing techniques but also discovered potential talents from the national harmonica contest.

On 7 – 9 August 1998, HWSB organized 2nd Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival. Our harmonica experts obtained an outstanding result from this festival. They won the champion, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up and a few top prizes. This lead HWSB nearer to international level.

In 1998, HWSB published a harmonica magazine titled “VOICE OF HARMONY”. It reported the development of national and international harmonica activities. It recorded valuable details of harmonica activities.

In 1998, HWSB organized “24 Hours Non-stop Harmonica Recital”. It was recorded in Malaysia Book of Records.

From 6 July 2002, HWSB was invited by companies and associations to perform at various functions at Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur.

On the eve of Malaysia’s 46th Anniversary of National Day (30 August 2003), HWSB guided the “460 People Largest Harmonica Performance”. HWSB was officially invited by Malaysia Books of Records to participate in this event. It was sponsored by Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd.

On 17 & 18 January 2004, HWSB organized “Malaysia-China Harmonica Competition” in Penang and it was categorized as one of the events in the celebration of Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relation for 30 Years.
